NakHalal (“we”, “us”) is a Halal inventory and traceability service for Malaysian food manufacturers, operated by Lonjak Ventures. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It also covers our WhatsApp intake, through which you can record inventory events by messaging our WhatsApp number.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

Account & contact: your WhatsApp phone number, which identifies your account and is used to send login codes.
Business data you enter: company details, suppliers, customers, raw materials, products, purchases, production runs, sales, and Halal certificates you upload.
WhatsApp messages: the text, voice notes, and photos (e.g. receipts) you send to our WhatsApp number so we can record the inventory event they describe.
Usage & audit records: a log of changes to your data (date, action, and the device/OS/browser used) kept for audit and Halal record-keeping purposes.

How we use your information

To provide the inventory, traceability, and Halal record-keeping features.
To authenticate you at login via a one-time code sent to your WhatsApp number.
To process the purchase, production, and sale events you send over WhatsApp.
To maintain an audit trail for your Halal compliance records.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

WhatsApp and message processing

Messages you send to our WhatsApp number are delivered through the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta). To turn a free-text message, voice note, or photo into a structured inventory record, the message content is processed by our AI provider (OpenAI). Only the message and your current catalog of items are sent for this purpose; the result is a single purchase, production, or sale record saved to your account.

Service providers

We share data only with the providers that operate the service on our behalf:

Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) — delivering and receiving WhatsApp messages.
OpenAI — parsing WhatsApp messages, voice notes, and photos into records.
Vercel — application hosting; Neon — database; file storage for uploads.

These providers process data only as needed to deliver their part of the service.

Data retention

We keep your account and business data for as long as your account is active, and for any period required for Halal record-keeping or by law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).

Your rights & data deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. To make a request — including deleting your account and associated records — contact us using the details below and we will action it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
